Regular Saskatoon Transit fares resume

Twelve days of free Saskatoon Transit service concluded at midnight on Al Hallows’ Eve. File / Global News

SASKATOON – Saskatoon Transit is charging its regular bus fare after 12 days of free service.

Fares were waived on Oct. 20 when buses returned to the streets following a one month transit lockout.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The lockout was eventually deemed illegal by the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board, which ordered the lockout be lifted.

The City of Saskatoon estimates waiving the fare has a financial impact of $450,000 in lost revenue.

Fares were free until midnight on Halloween.

Transit customers can visit the city’s website for refund/extension information.
