WATCH ABOVE: Asa Rehman gives an 11 p.m. update on Halloween proceedings from the Granville strip
A van shooting fireworks at people in Newton and a teenager having a Tasmanian Devil at Crescent Beach go off in his coat are just two of the many incidents police in Surrey are dealing with on this Halloween evening.
“We’ve had a lot of calls tonight,” said Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Blair McCall.
He says they’re tracking the reports of the van shooting fireworks, and will continue to investigate tomorrow if need be.

There are 60 extra police officers out tonight along with 15 auxiliary constables, more than almost any other night of the year.
McCall says other than the Crescent Beach teenager being treated for burns, he hasn’t received any reports of major injuries.
“It has been good, and hopefully it stays that way.”
