REGINA – An Okanagan man has escaped prosecution on drug trafficking charges in Saskatchewan.
Dion Gerald Clowry, 35, of Lumby was accused of conspiracy to traffic cocaine after a 2012 drug bust that involved RCMP, police in the USA and border agents.
The Crown has stayed the charge without providing reason for doing so.
The investigation resulted in more than 3000 kilograms of cocaine being seized as well as 100,000 ecstasy pills.
The drugs were smuggled into Canada at a remote location on the Saskatchewan/Montana border.
The ringleader of the operation, Brock Palfrey of Vernon, is serving an 18 year prison sentence.
