STONEY CREEK, Ont. – One person is dead after a vehicle driving in the wrong direction collided with another car on the QEW on Tuesday morning.
The crash took place on the highway in Stoney Creek just after 5 a.m.

Police say a man in the car that was hit by the vehicle going the wrong way died at the scene.
They say the person driving the vehicle going the wrong way has suffered serious injuries and is in a Hamilton hospital.
No names have been released.
Police say they were trying to intercept the wrong-way driver before they were alerted to the fatal crash.
Traffic is being diverted off the QEW at Fifty Road until at least 10 a.m. today as police investigate.
