VPD responds after homemade explosive injures man

Vancouver police say no charges will be recommended against a 29-year-old man after a homemade explosive allegedly blew up in his face in downtown Vancouver this afternoon.

It happened around 1 a.m. near Columbia St. and West 1st Ave.

Police determined that the injury was likely the result of a crudely manufactured device.

The man was treated in hospital for a significant, non-life threatening facial laceration.
