Vancouver Police are on scene of a collision that has claimed the life of a pedestrian.
Shortly before 8:00 a.m., a 51-year-old man driving north on Renfrew Street struck a 74-year-old woman as she crossed the road mid-block near Williams Street.

The pedestrian was rushed to hospital, but did not survive.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
It is not clear what caused the crash.
This is Vancouver’s third pedestrian fatality this year.
