CALGARY – An Alberta RCMP officer is facing criminal charges.
Constable Depagie was charged with assault causing bodily harm on Thursday, in connection to an arrest made in November of 2013.
He works for the Gleichen RCMP detachment, about an hour east of Calgary, but officials say his duty status is now under review.
The charges were laid after a public complaint was filed, accusing him of assault and unlawful confinement.
He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Siksika Nation, Provincial Court on November 6th, 2014.
