TORONTO — Mayoral candidate Olivia Chow will be trying her hand at TV production on Friday.
Chow will be guest producer of the second hour of Global’s The Morning Show and will sit in on chat segments with co-hosts Liza Fromer, Kris Reyes and Antony Robart.
Chow chose Martha Friendly, executive director of the Childcare Resource and Research Unit, as the interview subject.

The 57-year-old candidate, who is currently polling in third place behind John Tory and Doug Ford, also curated the music that will be used on the show from 7 to 8 a.m.
“The Morning Show is thrilled to have Olivia Chow join our conversation,” said executive producer Alexandra Henderson.
“She’ll be weighing in on the topics both timely and entertaining. Having Ms. Chow join our team for an hour will give us an opportunity to dig deeper into some of the topics that have dominated the campaign but will also give our viewers a chance to get to know her a little better: What music she likes to listen to, what TV shows she likes to watch, and what’s her favourite breakfast spot.”
Viewers can join the conversation and post questions for Chow at Facebook.com/morningshowto.
Tory will guest-produce his own hour of The Morning Show on Oct. 22.
Ford initially accepted an offer from the show but then backed out. Producers hope he will change his mind before the Oct. 27 election.
The Toronto edition of The Morning Show airs from 6 to 9 a.m. on Global.
