Police arrest minor in 2 possibly related sexual assaults in Toronto

TORONTO- Police have arrested a minor in connection with two possibly related sexual assaults that took place Saturday evening in downtown Toronto.

Police say the first assault took place at 5:42 p.m. on Oct.11 when a male suspect approached a woman from behind and sexually assaulted her as she was entering St. Patrick subway station at University Avenue and Dundas Street.

The second assault happened at 6:40 p.m., after a male suspect violently assaulted a 22-year-old woman near 1 Blue Jays Way. The suspect fled as the victim screamed, police say.

The suspect cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police could not confirm the two attacks were perpetrated by the same suspect, but descriptions given by both victims are similar.
