A 24-year-old driver is being charged with impaired driving after her vehicle flipped in Abbotsford.
The crash happened at Old Yale Road near Fishtrap Creek early Saturday morning.
A car with four women inside rolled over, trapping everyone inside the vehicle.
Emergency crews managed to free them, but that’s when crews discovered the driver may have not only been drunk but also high.
“Unfortunately we found that the driver had been drinking and we suspect may have been indulging in street drugs as well,” says Cst. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department.
They suffered minor injuries, but police say they are lucky the outcome wasn’t much worse.
“Fortunately there were no serious injuries, although it could have been much different,” says Cst. MacDonald.
