It’s been one year since a massive fire gutted almost a full city block in New Westminster.
The area on Columbia Street is still empty and no redevelopment has started. The fire destroyed a number of the businesses on the city’s so-called “Bridal Row.”
In the weeks that followed the fire, members of the community stepped forward to donate wedding dresses to affected brides along with money to devastated store owners. Asa Rehman reports.
