Motorcyclist killed after colliding with car

MONTREAL —  Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist has died following a collision downtown on Thursday morning.

The accident happened at around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Peel and Notre-Dame.

It seems the 30-year-old driver of the motorcycle, for an unknown reason, lost control and slammed into a car waiting at the intersection.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries to his head and upper body and went into cardiac arrest while being transported to hospital.

Montreal police collision experts were on the scene to determine what happened.
