DUCK LAKE, Sask. – An elderly woman was killed after two cars collided at the north access into Duck Lake, Sask. around 5:25 p.m. on Saturday.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix turned westbound to enter the town in front of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala heading southbound on Highway 11.
Two 75-year-olds from Saskatoon were in the Impala.
The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered.
The driver of the Impala was airlifted to a Saskatoon hospital with what were described as serious injuries.
Two 16-year-old boys in the Grand Prix, who are from the Beardy’s First Nation, were also taken to hospital in Saskatoon with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP said they don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
Mounties continue to investigate.
