NEAR PRINCETON, B.C. — An afternoon accident on Highway 3 near Princeton Thursday has claimed the life of a 70-year-old Kamloops woman.

RCMP say the motorhome she was a passenger in left the highway and hit the ditch. The driver, a 72-year-old man also from Kamloops, managed to swerve back onto the highway. Police say it was during that maneuver the victim was ejected from the motorhome. She was pronounced dead on scene. The driver sustained minor injuries.

RCMP are investigating what caused the vehicle to leave the highway and if the victim was wearing her seat belt.

No names are being released.
