UPDATE: 51-year-old man identified in Aldergrove homicide

Two men have been arrested after a homicide in Aldergrove on the evening of October 1st. Shane MacKichan

UPDATE: The homicide victim has been identified as 51-year-old Clayton Marr. 

Evidence gathered in the investigation suggests, according to IHIT, that Marr had broken into the home in the 25700-block of 32nd Ave. In response to the break-in, the homeowner and his neighbour tried to restrain Marr until police arrived. But prior to police arriving at the scene Marr became unconscious and was later taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Due to the evidence at the scene, the homeowner and neighbour were arrested but further investigation did not support the two being charged. The men were later released.

The Integrated Homicide Team is investigating after a man was killed in Aldergrove this evening.

According to Langley RCMP Staff Sgt. David Brown, it happened in the area of 276th street and 32nd Avenue around 8:45 Wednesday night.

When they arrived, there were three men on the front lawn, one of whom was unresponsive. That man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.

The two other men were arrested by Langley RCMP and are in custody. They had no significant injuries and have no criminal records.

Langley RCMP say that the incident doesn’t appear gang-related, but that the three people knew each other.

According to IHIT, the have not identified the victim and will not be releasing any information about the man until family is notified.
