Watch above: City, Saskatoon Transit union meet to discuss impasse in labour dispute
SASKATOON – Negotiations between the City of Saskatoon and the transit union could continue for another day, according to a social media post by the union.
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 615 (ATU 615) said the two sides were “still talking and looking at continuations as early as tomorrow,” in a Twitter post.
The two sides met throughout Wednesday, according to other social media posts by the union and a city official.
At issue between the parties are wages and the pension plan.
The union is looking for an increase of 22.25 per cent over five years while the city has offered ten per cent over four years.
The city changed a bylaw after a special council meeting to address what they said was a $6.7 million deficit, something ATU 615 disputes.
