WINNIPEG- Police are investigating a sexual assault that happened early Saturday morning.
A 21-year-old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted on Henry Avenue by a man at about 4:00 a.m. Officers were called to the scene at around 4:30 a.m. and say the suspect dragged the victim a short distance away where he committed a serious assault upon her.
A bystander heard the woman crying for help and came over. The suspect then fled the scene.
The woman was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police say that the suspect was between 20 and 30 years old with a skinny build and short black hair. They are still investigating the incident.
