Terry Fox Run still a go Sunday despite tree cleanup

Calgary – More than 1500 people will gather for the annual Terry Fox Run Sunday, one of the few lucky charities able to go ahead with its plans this weekend after the storm in Calgary.

Kyle Hansen, an organizer for the event said the biggest concern is safety for participants and people using the pathway during the run, because of damaged trees.

“With the debris it could be slippery or narrow the pathways where we run,” Hansen said. “We have been in touch with the City of Calgary who have advised us that we are still able to proceed with the Run along the planned route.”

Organizers say please exercise caution.

Registration for the Terry Fox Run at Eau Claire begins at 9:30am and the Run starts at 11am.

Other Terry Fox Runs are also taking part on Sunday, Sept 14 in McKenzie Towne.
