WINNIPEG – With the injuries still adding up, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added two Canadians.

The football club signed former fifth overall draft pick defensive lineman Ameet Pall and defensive back Shea Pierre.

Pall was once a top-ranked prospect when the Calgary Stampeders chose him fifth overall in the 2012 CFL draft. But he was soon released from the Stamps and ended up signing with the Montreal Alouettes as a free agent. The 27-year-old appeared in 10 games with the Alouettes but was recently given his walking papers.

Pierre attended the Edmonton Eskimos training camp this year but was a late cut. The 25-year-old was originally selected by the Argonauts 12th overall in 2012.

The Bombers can use all the help they can get on the defensive side of the ball with injuries at defensive end to both Jason Vega and Kashawn Fraser. Zach Anderson and Willie Moseley both left practice early on Wednesday, while the newly acquired Thaddeus Gibson has yet to join the team. Linebacker Ian Wild will also not be ready to return this week.
