CALGARY- A man was arrested just after leaving traffic court on Wednesday—for doing exactly what he’d been ordered not to do.
The 24-year-old Fort McMurray man was in court after being ticketed for excessive speeding. On June 28, he was pulled over for driving 167 km/h on Highway 2 near Crossfield, which is 57 km/hr over the speed limit.
On Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to the speeding ticket and was ordered to pay a fine and have his licence suspended by 14 days. The traffic commissioner made a point of advising him not to drive home, but an hour later a police officer saw him driving in the city of Airdrie.
The man has since been charged with driving with unauthorized, which could mean a six month suspension of his drivers licence.
