Gas leak closes portion of eastbound Eglinton Ave. in Scarborough

TORONTO – A gas leak has prompted the closure of the eastbound lanes of Eglinton Avenue East between Brimley Road and Falmouth Avenue Friday morning.

Toronto Fire were called to the scene at 7:57 a.m. to discover a two-inch gas line break reportedly caused by a construction crew.

No injuries have been reported.

Enbridge Gas has been called to cap the leak.

There’s no word yet when the portion of Eglinton will reopen to traffic.
