HALIFAX – An RCMP officer in Nova Scotia is facing a charge of domestic assault.
The province’s Serious Incident Response Team launched an investigation following allegations of domestic violence.
The team says it began looking into the matter after a man filed a complaint with Halifax police early last month.
The unit, which investigates serious incidents involving police, says the incidents are alleged to have occurred between July 2010 and December 31, 2013.
Const. Natasha Renee Dantiste of the Cole Harbour detachment is charged with assault and uttering a threat.
The 46-year-old officer was released on conditions to appear in provincial court in October.
