TORONTO – There is outrage at York University over anti-immigrant flyers that were posted around campus this week.
The flyers say that “if mass third world immigration continues, White Canadians will be reduced to a persecuted minority.”
A web address appears for a group called Immigration Watch Canada on the flyers but the head of that group says they had nothing to do with it.
Police are investigating and students are condemning the flyers.

“Racial discrimination is wrong. At York University especially, we celebrate our diversity and it’s actually sad and appalling about the fact that we were able to see something like this happen at this day and age,” said York Federal of Students VP of Equity Mithilen Mathipalen.
Similar flyers have popped up in Brampton this past summer with the most recent one earlier this month.
Ontario’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Michael Chan has since denounced what he calls the “hateful” flyers and that “there is no room in our province for intolerance, hatred or division on cultural or racial lines.”
