VANCOUVER — Police are investigating an overnight stabbing in the Metrotown area.
At around 1 a.m. RCMP received reports that a man was injured at the Metrotown bus loop. They arrived to find him being taken to hospital by ambulance, according to Insp. Davis Wendell, the Regional Duty Officer for Metro Vancouver.
Officers say the attack was not gang related, but was targeted – the victim and the suspect appear to be known to each other.
The victim is currently recovering in the hospital. Authorities say he’s in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have arrested the suspect and taken him into custody.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the attack are asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
