A North Vancouver woman is recovering from injuries after being attacked by a black bear in her own home.
RCMP and BC conservation officers were called to the home on St Ives Crescent after receiving reports about a black bear that had walked into a house.
It’s believed the woman may have been clawed by the animal, but she managed to scare it off before crews arrived.
She is now recovering from her injuries.
The bear was later found, tranquilized and taken away from the area.
Conservation officers say the incident should serve as another reminder to homeowners to keep their garbage locked up.
