Another suspicious fire in Vernon

VERNON — Another big fire in Vernon, this one called in about 11:30 Monday night at the Growers Supply Company plant in the 1200 of Waddington Drive.

At its peak flames were 30 meters into the air as wooden bins used to store ship fruit went up in flames.

Crews used a ladder truck to pour water from above while ground crews kept it from spreading.

Fire chief Keith Green it’s definitely suspicious and destroyed from 400 to 500 big bins out of a pile near 10,000.

It’s suspicious fire number 22 in the past couple of months in Vernon with the most recent being at the Kin Race track where the grandstands were destroyed by fire.
