Residential and business customers are bypassing the Metro Vancouver solid waste disposal program because they think it’s too expensive. Their solution? Sending the trash on a train to Washington State. Experts say it’s costing the province over $10-million a year in lost revenue and it’s also impacting Metro’s plan to recycle more. But customers say the savings are worth it.
