Firefighters in Surrey are cleaning up after a large house fire that investigators are considering suspicious.
The fire started around 8 a.m. at the home at 152nd Street and 84th Avenue.
The home is divided into two different suites, upper and lower.
At the time of the fire, the upper suite was empty.
A mother and her four children were in the lower suite and were alerted to the fire by passerby. The fire alarm was not working at the time of the blaze and fire officials say the passersby likely saved their lives.
No one was injured. Fire investigators and RCMP are investigating.
