Assault charges stayed against Roughrider Eron Riley
REGINA – Assault charges have been stayed against a receiver for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Eron Riley had been charged last August. His lawyer, Noah Evanchuk, confirmed yesterday that his client is no longer before the courts.
The charges stemmed from allegations that a man was beaten outside a Regina bar in August 2013.
Two other players, defensive back Dwight Anderson and wide receiver Taj Smith, are still accused. A preliminary hearing on the case is scheduled for next week.
