LAKE COUNTRY — Lake Country RCMP are investigating a hit and run incident involving a young girl who was walking on the side of the road.
The girl was on the shoulder of Beaver Lake Road near Jensen Road when she was struck by the vehicle just after 11 a.m. Monday.
The driver of the car then left the scene.
According to witnesses at the scene the girl was walking and talking after being hit.
Emergency crews attended the scene and the girl is being checked over BC Ambulance service for internal injuries.
RCMP are looking for a vehicle described as a burgundy mini-van.
They say they’re are not sure that the driver even knew it had struck the pedestrian.
