WATCH: Woman drives wrong way on Quebec highway

TORONTO – A 76-year-old woman was captured on video driving the wrong way on a highway near Montreal earlier this week.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube by Cédric Gaudet, shows the woman speeding along on the other side of a concrete barrier as cars head towards her.

The incident happened Monday night around 7 p.m. on Highway 930 West in Candiac, about 30 minutes south of Montreal.

Gaudet told the CBC that he and his friends tried to get the woman’s attention as they followed her for about two kilometres.

According to Gaudet, the woman ignored them and even accelerated to go faster at one point.

The woman ended up colliding with two vehicles, sending both occupants to hospital with serious injuries.

The 76-year-old is currently in hospital in critical condition.
