Vancouver police are warning the public following a sexually motivated attack of woman near Kingsway this morning.

The incident happened just after 2:30 a.m. when a 30-year-old Vancouver woman was walking on Rhodes Avenue near Kingsway and was approached by a man. The suspect grabbed her from behind, put his arm around her throat and threatened the woman.

According to police, the woman fought back against her attacker since she believed she was going to be sexually assaulted. The man eventually ran off northbound on Rhodes Avenue.

The suspect is described as white, 35-years-old, 5’10”, 140 lbs with short blonde hair and a pockmarked face. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoody, white t-shirt, tan shorts and black shoes with caramel-coloured soles.
