TORONTO – Even while seeking treatment for a substance abuse problem Toronto’s beleaguered Mayor Rob Ford can’t escape the barbs of late night comic Jimmy Kimmel.
On Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live the comedian took shots at Ford in a parody segment called “The Biggest Mayor,” a take on the reality show “The Biggest Loser.”
In Depth: Mayor Rob Ford
Kimmel began the segment by poking fun at Ford’s comments to a reporter comparing rehab to football camp joking that Ford “is tackling the other patients.”
The video then shows clips from Ford’s “cut the waste challenge,” and other clips of the mayor engaging in physical activity.
Ford has been a favourite punchline in Kimmel’s late night show and was a guest on the show. The host peppered the mayor with questions about his illegal drug use and his contentious relationship with the city’s police chief and a possible substance abuse problem.
