SASKATOON – Five people have been charged with a total of 20 offences after a stolen vehicle was spotted in a Saskatoon parking lot Saturday morning.
Around 9:45 a.m., a patrol member spotted a stolen vehicle in a parking lot on 22nd Street.
When the officer got into a position to make a traffic stop, the driver began to exit the parking lot.
Due to public safety reasons, a short chase was aborted.
The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later in the 1000-block of Avenue L North.
With assistance from the canine unit, officers took two men and three women into custody.
Two of the suspects were located in a retirement home.
Their charges include failing to stop for police, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breaching conditions from previous court orders.
