WINNIPEG – What could have been a run-of-the-mill speeding ticket turned into a large drug bust on a Manitoba highway.

RCMP say they stopped a car for speeding on Highway 2 in the RM of Victoria, at about 5 p.m. on Sunday. The vehicle was clocked doing 116 kilometres per hour in a 100 km/h zone.

Inside the 2000 Chrysler Intrepid, Mounties found almost a kilogram of marijuana, along with morphine and Clonazepam pills and cash.
