Calgary man killed in motorcycle crash

A 24-year-old man has died after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a light standard.

It happened at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Panamount Heights N.W.

Police say the bike was going at a high rate of speed when it hit a patch of pea gravel.

A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say he was wearing a helmet and a protective jacket. They don’t believe alcohol was involved.
