WATCH: Guy takes selfie in front of moving train, gets kicked in head

TORONTO – Train engineers really don’t like it when you get too close to a moving train, especially when it’s for a silly photo op.

Twenty-two-year-old Jared Frank from Regina, Sask. learned this the hard way when he tried to take a selfie in front of one in Peru.

He posted video evidence to YouTube this week showing the consequences.

As the train passes by, the foot of the conductor appears in the frame and gives Frank a kick to the side of the head.

“Wow that guy just kicked me in the head,” you can hear Frank say in the video.

The description on the YouTube posting, which is under the name ‘Jared Michael,’ says; “I tried to take a selfie while a train passed a “safe” distance behind. I guess I was still too close and got kicked in the head.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The video has gone viral and has over 9 million views as of this writing. Comments on the video page seem to focus on Frank being “dumb” and “stupid” for attempting to take the photo so close to the train.

Many people also believe the conductor saved Frank from getting hit by a piece of the train.

“It is clear the train driver spared you of a much more serious injury. His foot was resting on a metal bar that otherwise would have hit you,” commenter Matthew Lee wrote.

SOUND OFF: Do you think the conductor kicked Frank to save him or because he was trying to teach him a lesson? Let us know in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
