KELOWNA, B.C. – Change may be coming to proposed legislation in B.C. that would greatly alter the agricultural land reserve.
B.C. farmers have been protesting the new policies. Some say the legislation doesn’t go far enough to protect farm land for the future.
They’ve taken to social media to get the attention of the Agriculture Minister, who appears to be listening.
Norm Letnick, MLA for Kelowna-Lake Country, just replaced an ailing Pat Pimm, MLA for Peace River North.
On his first day on the job last week, Letnick contacted the B.C. Agriculture Council and scheduled a meeting for next week.
