WINNIPEG – One-time Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive end Alex Hall is NFL bound after agreeing to a contract with the Carolina Panthers. The 28-year-old played nearly two seasons in Winnipeg before he was traded last October just before the CFL’s trade deadline.

Knowing that Hall had NFL interest, Bombers general manager Kyle Walters didn’t want to lose him for nothing. Walters ended up prying offensive lineman Patrick Neufeld away from the Saskatchewan Roughriders for Hall’s rights who went on to win a Grey Cup in Saskatchewan.

Hall is looking at competing for a reserve role with the Panthers with four other defensive ends already under contract. Hall was second in the CFL with 16 sacks last season.
