SASKATOON – More than a dozen Saskatoon firefighters battled a blaze on the city’s west side on Saturday morning.
Three fire trucks were called to a home at 1816 22nd Street West around 8:40 a.m.
Black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky from several blocks away.
One firefighter was treated for a minor burn to his wrist.
The fire has been deemed suspicious after crews found broken windows and no occupants inside.
According to a battalion chief, a witness reported seeing a person jump out of a window before the flames took over the house.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
