Charges laid in fatal Vernon crash

VERNON — Charges have been laid in connection with a head on collision near Vernon a little more than a year ago that killed three people.

The crash happened March 31 on Highway 97 just south of Vernon where a northbound pick-up truck collided head-on with a southbound station wagon.

The crash killed a passenger in the pick-up, 19-year-old Eric Robertson of Armstrong, and the two occupants in the station wagon, 70-year-old Allan Allport and his 67-year-old wife Fay Allport of Salmon Arm.

The driver of the pick-up truck, 22-year-old Brandon McGregor of Spallumcheen is charged with dangerous driving causing death and is due in Vernon court May 1.
