It’s only been open 8 months and already a brand new section of highway in the Central Okanagan is being fixed up.
The 9 kilometer stretch of highway 97 that runs thru Lake Country was built to improve safety but many drivers say it’s unsafe in two particular spots.
One is at the south end where drivers say a large dirt berm blocks sightlines. The Ministry of Transportation will be removing the berm.
The other problem spot is on the north end where getting on and off the highway from Pelmewash Parkway is challenging because of curves and the lack of signage. The ministry will be installing warning signs in the area and reducing speeds.
