WINNIPEG – Jeff Stoughton’s curling foursome is breaking up.

The Charleswood skip announced on Twitter Sunday afternoon his team will all be going their separate ways at the end of the curling season.

“Moving on,” tweeted Stoughton. “Great four years with Jon and Reid and two with Mark.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The split comes after a disappointing season for the rink. Stoughton failed to crack the playoffs at the 2013 Roar of the Rings Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in December. The team also settled for a bronze medal at the Brier earlier this month after losing to Quebec in the Page playoff.

Stoughton along with third Jon Mead and lead Reid Carruthers don’t know what their futures hold. Second Mark Nichols plans to move back to Newfoundland.

All four men won the last two provincial championships together. They also nabbed a silver at the 2013 Brier.
