Grande Prairie man charged with impaired driving near school

EDMONTON – A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged after Grande Prairie police pulled over a vehicle said to be driving erratically near a school.

On Monday Morning, RCMP officers allegedly saw a vehicle driving on sidewalks with two deflated tires near an elementary school.

When police tried to stop the vehicle, there was a minor collision between the vehicle and a police cruiser. No one was injured in the crash.

A 21-year-old man is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The Grande Prairie resident was released and will appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court during an unscheduled date.
