A major Coquitlam intersection reopened Sunday afternoon after a beam dislodged during construction on the Evergreen Line two days earlier.
B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said Como Lake Avenue between Clarke and North roads reopened at 3 p.m. after a thorough examination over the weekend.
The province said additional bracing and restraints have been installed to ensure the guideway is stable and safe.
On Friday, a 300-tonne beam dislodged, shutting down the major commuter route due to fears of concrete falling.
The incident is not expected to delay construction of the 10.9 kilometre line, which is expected to be in service by summer 2016.
Officials are expected to release more information later today.
