Is sovereignty legal?
McGill Law Professor Robert Leckey joins us to offer a legal reality check to Pauline Marois’ view of a separate Quebec. Marois speculated this week an independent Quebec would keep the Canadian dollar and ask for a seat at the Bank of Canada. Leckey, and expert on constitutional law and referendums, shares Canadian and international legal precedents that would come into play in any possible referendum in Quebec.

Who better to give us perspective on this Quebec election campaign than someone who’s been there. Former Nelligan MNA Yolande James has been behind the scenes for a lot of political drama since she was first elected in a 2004 by-election. She shares her thoughts on how the campaign is going so far for all 3 parties.

Montreal police officer in Haiti
Twenty-seven-year veteran of the Montreal Police force Janice Laws sits down in studio to talk about her work with the United Nations. Laws is currently stationed in Haiti. On her third peace-keeping mission with the U.N., Laws is vetting and training officers for the Haitian National Police Force with a focus on recruiting more women to the Haitian force.
