#Whaling could be the weirdest Internet trend ever

TORONTO – Just when you thought the Internet couldn’t get any weirder, along comes #whaling.

This new, ridiculous trend is taking over social video site Vine with people posting short clips of themselves acting like, you guessed it, whales.

The videos, usually accompanied with the hashtag #whaling, show people rising up from behind something and bending backwards before going back out of view as if they were breaching out of the ocean.

The kicker of this trend is that these videos are not taken at home in front of a mirror. These are planned mini-productions out in public.

A group in a fast food restaurant going between seats, a man in the cereal aisle at the grocery store and a woman in a bathroom stall are all examples of what you might find under the #whaling tag.

Some even include props, such as plastic cups, to make it look like water spraying.

One thing for certain; these people are all dedicated and very flexible.
