TORONTO – A 30-year-old Aurora man has been charged with impaired driving after an incident whereby he drove himself to a York Regional Police station while intoxicated Monday night.
Police say Vadym Gulenko parked his four-door Honda Civic in the visitors area at the #4 District police station on Rutherford Road around 11:30 p.m. and entered the building.
It was at that point the man became aggressive and demanded a place to sleep for the night.
Police say one of the officers smelled alcohol from Gulenko’s breath and he was arrested for impaired driving shortly thereafter.
A breathalyzer test that was administered proved he was two times over the legal limit of .08.
The good news was that he was allowed to sleep at the station until the morning.
Gulenko is scheduled to appear in court on April 3.
