TORONTO – One man is dead and another has been taken to hospital after a stabbing during a brawl in Etobicoke.

Police say they were called early Sunday morning to a large fight at the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre in the city’s west end near Islington Avenue and Norseman Street.

Paramedics took a man, believed to be in his 30s, to hospital with a life-threatening chest wound where he later died.

Police in Mississauga pulled over a vehicle shortly afterwards with people matching the description of those in the brawl.

One of them was taken to hospital with a stab wound and is expected to recover.

Investigators say the brawl occurred during a Tibetan new year’s, and that party goers may have not realized what was happening.
