TORONTO — Oscar-nominated actor Chazz Palminteri is bringing A Bronx Tale to Toronto later this month.
The 61-year-old star will perform the one-man show March 29 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts.
The classic coming-of-age story debuted in Los Angeles in 1989 and then had a successful off-Broadway run.
In 1993, Robert De Niro made his directorial debut with an adaptation of Palminteri’s show for the big screen. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
A Bronx Tale tells the story of a boy from a working class family who witnesses a murder and finds himself introduced to organized crime.
Palminteri brought the show back to New York in 2007.
His long list of credits include The Usual Suspects, Mulholland Falls and Analyze This. He recently popped up in several episodes of Modern Family.
Palminteri earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for his role in Bullets Over Broadway.
In 2005, Palminteri worked in Toronto on the short-lived reboot of Kojak.
